Dr. Mojtabai is an associate Professor of mental health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, with joint appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He is also an attending Physician in the Community Psychiatry Program affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
His research is focused on utilization patterns of mental health and substance use service in the community and delivery and organization of services. Objectives of his research include identifying trends in service use, including the use of psychotropic medications, barriers to care and public attitudes to treatment seeking.
Dr. Mojtabai received his MD at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran and received his PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Tulsa. He received his MPH at the Mailman School of Public Health.
