The Human Papillomavirus in Perimenopause (HIP) Study is a research project initiated by Dr. Patti Gravitt of the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with support from the National Cancer Institute to learn more about human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in women age 35 – 60 years.
If you are a women in this age range, we hope you will consider enrolling in the HIP Study. There are still important questions to be answered about HPV detection and cervical cancer risk in older women. Your participation will help to ensure that strategies for cervical cancer screening and prevention are based on a true understanding of the unique risks for HPV infection and cervical cancer in women as they age through menopause.
