Federal Food Allergy Research Not Addressing Biotechnology Issues

A report from the Pew Agricultural Biotechnology Initiative concluded the science needed for government regulators to assess allergies in genetically engineered foods could be greatly improved.  The study, “A Snapshot of Federal Research on Food Allergy,” was conducted by Lynn Goldman, MD, MPH, professor of environmental health sciences at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Luca Bucchini, a former post doctoral student at School. The study was also featured in an article appearing in the June 12 edition of the Wall Street Journal.
