The Center for a Livable Future at the Bloomberg School of Public Health sponsored its first annual “Veg Out Cook-Off” on October 25. Faculty, students and staff were invited to submit their favorite healthy vegetarian recipes. The contest was an opportunity to encourage more people to think about healthy eating and to create greater awareness about how healthy, meatless foods can be nutritious and delicious. The tastiest entries were awarded by a panel of judges. 1st Place: Mary Ann Dunevant Johns Hopkins/National Human Genome Research Institute, Genetic Counseling Training Program Good & Simple Black Bean Soup 2nd Place: Vivian Towe Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Ma Po Tofu 3rd Place: Darcy Phelan Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Portobello Mushroom Bake All of the recipes entered into the contest will be rotated into the School’s cafeteria menu as special items.
