New Associate Dean for Research Administration

Alexandra McKeown became the new Associate Dean for Research Administration at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health on July 23. McKeown will oversee research grants for the Bloomberg School.

McKeown joins the Bloomberg School of Public Health from the University of Maryland College Park where she served as Assistant Vice President for Research Administration and Advancement. Previously, McKeown held a number of positions in grants administration at the Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus, including assistant director for University Research Projects Administration.

McKeown holds both master’s degree in business administration and a law degree and has considerable experience in pre- and post-research grant administration, contract negotiation and intellectual property and technology transfer. She is also a national leader in grants administration and is active in the National Council of University Research Administrators, Council on Government Relations and Association of University Technology Managers.
