New Public Health Certification Exam

The recently formed National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE) will administer a new national credentialing exam for public health professionals, August 11–30, 2008. Anyone who has earned a graduate-level degree from a school or program accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health on or before July 31, 2008 is eligible to take the exam.

Developed by the NBPHE over the past two years, with input from national public health organizations and associations, the exam is designed to test knowledge of the five core competencies of public health and the seven cross-cutting areas relevant to contemporary public health. Individuals who pass the exam will be “certified in public health,” and be able to add CPH as a professional credential.

For a detailed explanation of the CPH exam presented in an October 11 information/Q&A session at the School, please click on the links below.
