Fotis Kafatos, PhD, a world-renowned biologist at the Imperial College London, was the keynote speaker at the Third International Malaria Research Conference sponsored by the Johns Hopkins Malaria Research Institute. The conference was held March 20 and 21 in Baltimore, Md. In an interview with George Dimopoulos, PhD, a former student of Kafatos and an assistant professor in the Bloomberg School’s Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, Kafatos discussed his career and the importance of his malaria research.
