Student Named President-Elect of Public Health Student Caucus

George Karageorgiou, a graduate student in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Department of Health Policy and Management, has been named president-elect of the Public Health Student Caucus (PHSC), the nation's largest student-led organization dedicated to furthering the development of the next generation of professionals in public health and health-related disciplines.

PHSC is an organization within the American Public Health Association (APHA). The Caucus consists of more than 4,000 students and young public health professionals. Karageorgiou will take over as president in November 2004 and will serve a one-year term. As PHSC president, Karageorgiou will sit on APHA’s executive board.

Karageorgiou will begin courses this fall to obtain a master of health science in Health Finance and Management.

Several other students from the Bloomberg School also serve in PHSC leadership positions. They are Hossein Bahrami, Joshua Garoon, Amira Roess and Raghavendran Srinivasan.
