2. Philadelphia, PA: Living Beyond A Number: A Recipe for Life After Prison Town Hall Meeting. May 19, 2012, 11:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. Jeff Henderson is one of America’s most sought out motivational speakers. His real-life testimony of criminal behavior, imprisonment, struggle, determination, and success is like no other. As a former drug dealer, he made $35,000 per week dealing cocaine. During a decade of incarceration in federal prison, he found a passion for cooking in prison kitchens. Once released and given a second chance, he transformed his life and focused on a career as a chef. Starting as a dishwasher just as he did in prison, Chef Jeff worked his way up the career ladder in various high-end restaurants and hotels to become an executive chef and the Chef of the Year. Chef Jeff tells his roller coaster story with intensity, humor, and a soulful determination to help others benefit from meeting and hearing him. http://www.nationalreentryresourcecenter.org/documents/0000/1350/4.13.12_Living_Beyond_A_Number.pdf [source: National Reentry Resource Center]
