Pilot I: Home Visiting

Improving Home Visiting Effectiveness in Preventing Child Maltreatment & Promoting School Readiness
Anne K. Duggan, Principal Investigator & S. Darius Tandon, Co-PI

Drs. Duggan and Tandon are assessing the effectiveness of home-visiting programs in Baltimore and working with the programs and local policy makers to improve service delivery.  For example, a standard set of risk assessments will be incorporated into the intake interview given to new home-visiting clients to help the programs better identify clients' needs as they enter a program.  Drs. Duggan and Tandon are also planning to begin a project using videotaped observations of actual and mock home visits as a tool to help home visitors better respond to maternal risk factors and promote child development.
