Center education and training programs, a collaboration of Johns Hopkins -- Schools of Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, and Professional Studies in Business and Education -- with state and city agencies and organizations, target researchers, service-providers, educators, families, and youth.
Programs/venues include: - Annual Summer Institute on School-based Mental Health and Youth Violence Prevention that focuses on:
- Translating research into practice in the community - Implementing evidence-based practices - Developing partnerships - Follow-up technical assistance for Summer Institute participants.
- Seminar series with presenters such as Joan McCord, Rolf Loeber, Bruce Kamradt, Cheryl Alexander, and Karen Pittman.
- Annual APHA Conference pre-session on current and emerging strategies and issues related to the implementation and study of violence prevention programs.
- An expanding website for Center programs and activities, as well as resources for families, professionals, and researchers.
- E-mail network to bring education and training activities to a wider, more diverse audience.
