Dr. Blodgett describes how government public health agencies and public health workers will function after a disaster and discusses the many duties that sanitarians must perform after a disaster.

Trainer Biography
David Blodgett is the Director/Health Officer of the Soutwest Utah Public Health Department and is also a consultant with the Johns Hopkins Center for Public Health Preparedness. Dr. Blodgett is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins General Preventive Medicine Residency, where he was also chief resident, and is also board certified in Preventive Medicine.  He is a graduate of the University of Utah School of Medicine, holds an MPH from Johns Hopkins, and completed clinical training at the Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, N.Y. Dr. Blodgett’s primary areas of focus include all hazard emergency preparedness training and bio-terrorism response, risk communication, and public health emergency response. As are all General Preventive Medicine physicians, Dr. Blodgett is a generalist, dealing with a wide range of issues facing the health of the population, including Chronic Disease Prevention, Clinical Services, Environmental Health, Health Promotion in addition to Emergency Preparedness.
