What Are The Deadlines For Financial Aid Applications?
Generally, new students should apply by March 15th and returning students should apply by May 15th. Be sure to review the filing dates page for more information.
I'm An International Student - Can I Apply For Financial Aid?
Financial aid for students who are not citizens or permanent residents of the United States is extremely limited. However, international students have a few options. For more information, review the international students page.
What About Scholarships?

Why Haven't You Processed My Financial Aid Application Yet?
The Bloomberg School's Financial Aid Office can only process your application after you have been fully accepted for admission.
What Is An SIS ID?
The Bloomberg School is committed to safeguarding the privacy of students and their personal information. In an ongoing effort to eliminate Social Security Numbers from correspondence, the Financial Aid Office will use the SIS ID to communicate with you.
The SIS ID is a unique, temporary 8-character, alpha numeric identifier assigned to all new students. The SIS ID is used to authenticate students who are new to online services. Current students must use their JHED ID and Password to access SIS.
How Do I Obtain An SIS ID?
Newly admitted students who have begun the financial aid application process will receive an email from the Financial Aid Office with their SIS ID.
I Lost The Email. Can You Resend My SIS ID?
Yes. Send an email to JHSPH.firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject "SIS ID" and include the following information:
- Your full name
- Your date of birth
- Your permanent address
What Is A JHED ID And How Do I Get One?
A JHED ID is a unique identifier for your information in the JHU Enterprise Directory. All students are automatically assigned and notified of their JHED ID shortly prior to enrollment. The JHED ID will replace the temporary SIS ID that was assigned when you were admitted to your program.
How Can I Find Out If You Received My Forms?
Once you are logged in to your SIS account, select the "Financial Aid" tab. Select "Summary" and follow the remaining online instructions. You may then click on your "To Do List" to view the status of all your required application documents. Documents that are marked as "Not Received", "Incomplete" or "Not Signed" must be submitted in order to complete your application.
How Will I Be Notified of My Financial Aid Award?
The Financial Aid Office will email you when your application has been processed. Once you are logged in to your SIS account:
- Select the "Financial Aid" tab
- Select "Summary" and follow the remaining online instructions
- Select the "Accept Awards" tab
- Agree to the "Terms and Conditions" by clicking the checkbox and the "Submit" button
You will then be able to view and take action on your awards.
