The new “East Baltimore Community School” (public K-8)
- Adopt-a-class – Read to students, tutor, mentor, participate in the life of the school
- Elev8 – Work with family advocates in the Elev8 program who are engaging middle-school parents and their children
- Conduct health education programs for children and families
- After school programs: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri from 4 – 6 pm, and Wed from 1 – 5 pm
EBDI’s East Baltimore Community School Seeks Reading and Math Listeners – Great Flexibility
Monday thru Friday
The new East Baltimore Community School is seeking Reading and Math Listeners. No formal instruction
is required. Children simply need assistance and attention from caring role models. Help by listening as a
student reads from a lesson books. Have a student explain a math skill they’ve learned. The new school
currently has students in kindergarten, 1st grade, and 5th grade. Some 5th graders are reading way below
their grade level. Some 1st graders are more advanced. Times are extremely flexible, Monday through Friday, 9 am – 6 pm. Simply spend 1 hour per week, or a few hours each month.
