BaliMonica Murphy, DVM, MPH is a freelance journalist whose fascination with better understanding infectious diseases is a consistent theme in her work. A \Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health\ graduate and veterinarian by training, Murphy worked for a number of years as a clinical veterinarian before co-authoring the book, “Molt, plumage abrasion, and color change in Lawrence’s Goldfinch.” In addition to her MPH, Murphy holds a BS from St. Mary’s College in Biology and a DVM from the University of Minnesota college of Veterinary Medicine.
