Susan Sperry, Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications ssperry@jhsph.edu Susan Sperry oversees strategic communications and marketing for the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She has been working in communications and marketing for more than 20 years. Prior to joining the Bloomberg School, Sperry was a principal at RTKL for 10 years, managing a global communications and marketing team for the international architecture, planning and creative services organization. Sperry was also a marketing manager with JASMAX Architects in Auckland, New Zealand and held positions with the City of Auckland. Sperry received her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and has a Master of Philosophy in Architecture from the University of Auckland. She is currently completing a master's degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University. Brian W. Simpson, Editorial Director, Editor of Johns Hopkins Public Health bsimpson@jhsph.edu With more than 20 years of writing and editing experience, Brian oversees the writers in the Department of Marketing and Communications. Brian is also editor of Johns Hopkins Public Health, the award-winning magazine that chronicles public health issues and the School’s research. Prior to joining Hopkins, Brian worked as a newspaper reporter in Florida, an editor and writer in Texas, a technical writer in Moldova and a freelance writer in Baltimore. Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and a bachelor of journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and an Master of Arts in writing from Johns Hopkins University. Tim Parsons, Director of Public Affairs tmparson@jhsph.edu Tim oversees public affairs for the Bloomberg School and serves as one of two media contacts for the School. He is also the editor of the online Public Health News Center and manges the School's social media content. Tim joined the School in 2001 after working for several years as public affairs coordinator for the University of Maryland Hospital for Children. For nearly 10 years, Tim worked as a news producer and assignment editor for WMAR-TV in Baltimore. Tim earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications from Fordham University. nwoodwri@jhsph.edu A former television news reporter, Natalie works closely with the media to promote the Bloomberg School and increase public awareness of its research and faculty. Natalie joined the School in 2008 after working for several years as a public relations representative for Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore. Before that she worked as a general assignment reporter for the ABC affiliate in Salisbury, Md. Natalie has a Bachelor of Arts in communication from Michigan State University.
jfrank@jhsph.edu A writer and editor, Jackie writes stories for the School's magazine and its website, and edits and proofreads publications produced by the Department of Marketing and Communications. Previously, she spent 16 years as a reporter at the Baltimore Sun, covering a number of beats, including education, courts and mental health, and working as a general assignment writer. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Mount Holyoke College.
rollinge@jhsph.edu Robert has produced a wide range of projects including books, exhibits, magazines, annual reports, viewbooks, websites and one escutcheon for Michael Bloomberg. Previously, he worked more than 10 years at a design firm specializing in corporate and institutional identity. Additionally, he has arranged art events and assisted in programming a film festival. He has a Bachelor of Science in journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master of Arts in publications design from the University of Baltimore.
kcrispin@jhsph.edu Konrad applies his knowledge and experience to the Office’s many challenges in visual communication and print production. Before joining the Bloomberg School, Konrad provided creative solutions for T. Rowe Price and GKV Advertising Inc. Konrad graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, with a Bachelor of Arts in visual communication. He is also a member of the America Institute of Graphic Arts.
dcroft@jhsph.edu David is the creative force behind the School's websites and interactive media. With more than 17 years of experience in design, branding and marketing, David has a very good sense of the most appropriate and successful messages to convey to audiences. His approach to communication follows simple Bauhaus fundamentals - form follows function. He graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design and has previous experience with a wide range of clients from Acura, Snyder's of Hanover, Aramark and CoverGirl to Kellogg's, Martin Marietta, Pizza Hut, Black & Decker and Beazer Homes.
Alyssa develops and manages online content for the Bloomberg School, including social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter. She also writes and edits stories for the website. Prior to joining the Department of Marketing and Communications, Alyssa served as communications manager for the International Injury Research Unit in the Department of International Health. Previously, she worked as an account manager for several public relations agencies in Washington, D.C. She also served as communications manager for RAINN, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting gender violence. Alyssa holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from Georgetown University. |
