The SPH JH HIPAA Compliance System provides a method for the required tracking of protected health information (PHI) disclosed by Johns Hopkins covered entities under an IRB waiver of authorization, review preparatory to research, or research of decedents to researchers at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. It also enables researchers to note limitations that individuals may have on the use of their medical information which are discovered during the conduct of research.
