Career Services For Employers
Bloomberg School graduates are among the top public health professionals in the world. The Office of Career Services wants to ensure that employers have ample opportunities to match their needs with the skills and interests of our students.
Below are some good avenues for employers interested in recruiting Bloomberg School students. For more information, contact the Office of Career Services.
The Bloomberg School’s annual public health career fair provides a convenient location for employer representatives to meet and network with students, faculty and alumni. Participants typically include graduate students from the Bloomberg School, the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and also the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.
The 2013 Public Health Career Fair will be taking place on Friday March 1, 2013. The deadline to register is February 22, 2013. For more information about on-line registration, pricing, etc. visit the Employer Information section on the career fair webpage.
Employers can post full-time jobs, part-time jobs, consultancies and internships through the Bloomberg School’s exclusive jobs database, JHSPHConnect. A brief description of your organization and qualifications desired should be included in the posting. A salary or salary range is also helpful. Positions can also be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or you can fax them to 410-502-9809.
Instructions for posting positions to JHSPHConnect:
- Click on the employer registration link for JHSPHConnect.
- Click on "Create an account," then click on "Request access."
- After you have entered your information, we will receive the request for your organization to gain direct access to the system.
- After your request has been approved, you will receive notification that you are able to post positions within the system.
Employer Information Sessions
Employer information sessions take place here at the Bloomberg School when no classes are meeting and highlight only one organization on any given day. You benefit from in-person time with students where you can present information about your organization, highlight job openings and respond to questions. Contact Paul Hutchinson (email@example.com or 410-955-3034) for more information.
Presentations at Workshops
Employers are a great resource for students and often give workshop presentations on a variety of career development and public health topics including resume writing, interviewing, salary negotiation, careers in epidemiology or other specialty topic, and grant writing. If you are interested in facilitating or presenting a seminar, contact the Office of Career Services.
