Thank you very much for agreeing to attend our 29th Annual Public Health Career Fair being held on Friday, March 1, 2013. We are looking forward to this being a wonderful event. As the Career Fair is drawing near, our office has created an information packet that will assist you in preparation for the event. Included in this packet is information regarding the following:
- sending your materials to our school,
- a map of the JHU Medical Campus
- parking directions & garages,
- driving directions, and
- a list of local hotels.
Organization and Company Materials: Please prepare to bring materials describing your organization, such as brochures, handouts, annual reports, business cards, etc. We are expecting approximately 450+ students to attend. Also, consider providing small giveaways such as pens, key chains, bumper stickers, or other items that students can take with them.
Signs and Displays: The Career Services Office will have laminated signs with your organization’s name at your assigned table, however, feel free to bring any additional sign/display materials that will easily fit on your assigned table. All tables will be 5 feet long and covered a linen table cloth. (If the display items require more space, please contact the Career Services Office immediately to make arrangements).
Delivering Your Materials on the Day of the Career Fair: If you plan to bring your materials with you on the day of the fair, please be sure any and all materials can enter through the Monument Street entrance. At this location, everyone enters through a revolving glass door and if your materials cannot fit through this entrance, you will need to enter through a different entrance (per school security policy). We will have volunteers stationed near the Monument St. entrance to assist you with your materials if needed.
Shipping Your Materials Ahead of Time: If you would like to have your materials shipped before the Career Fair, the Career Services Office will gladly store them beforehand (additionally, we will place these materials at your assigned table before the fair).
**Please DO NOT send materials to the Career Services Office mailing address at 2017 E. Monument St.** All delivered materials should be sent to the following address:
Returning Materials After the Career Fair: If you plan to send company/agency mailed materials/displays to the Career Services Office, please ensure that you make arrangements to have them returned to your agency. Federal Express picks up large packages at the loading dock. Our volunteers will be available to help you take your materials back to the loading dock. The Career Services Office will not be responsible for any displays left behind. Daily pick-up time for FedEx is 6:45 pm. For more information, you can contact FedEx at 1-800-GOFEDEX; www.fedex.com.
If you are bringing small/hand-carried materials with you, it would best to park in the Washington St. Garage at the corner of E. Monument St. & Washington St. Please be sure to bring your blue parking ticket with you into the building as we will have parking coupons to validate your parking. You will be able to enter the building from the Monument St. entrance. Please proceed to the employer registration table just inside the building.
For larger boxes or materials requiring assistance, it would best to stop at the loading dock entrance for the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health before proceeding to the parking garages. The loading dock entrance located at 604 Washington St.
Washington St. entrance – Traveling northbound on Washington St., after crossing over McElderry St., turn left into the parking garage underneath the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health building. Inform the guard at the booth that you are just dropping off materials for the Public Health Career Fair and they will direct you to where to unload materials. After loading your materials, turn left onto Washington St. as you exit the garage, and continue approximately one block to the Washington St. Garage.
