Barr Fellowship Going Strong

In June, Katherine ("Katie") Swanson, MPH, a second-year PhD student in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, as well as the 2001 recipient of the A. Ralph and Sylvia E. Claretha Harrington Asks for What She Wants

In 1998, the same year she was getting ready to mark her 30-year milestone at the School, Claretha Cox Harrington, supervisor of Customer Service, Custodial Services, turned 60. Her friends naturally threw a gala for her. There was just one snag.

"Health Care for All" Campaign Kicks Off

On September 7, representatives from the Maryland Citizens' Health Initiative, which has formulated a preliminary plan for providing health care for all persons in the state, held their kickoff press conference at the School. Faculty have worked to apply scientific and policy analysis principles to the challenge of providing all Marylanders with health insurance. Full Story
