Published

Heath ElliottThe Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health has chosen Heath Elliott as its new associate dean for external affairs.

As associate dean, Elliott will oversee the School’s fundraising, alumni relations and communications activities. Elliott served as interim associate dean for eight weeks and, before that, was senior director of development and alumni relations for the School for nearly four years.

“Heath has shown himself to be a strategic leader, able to build a great team and attain ever-increasing fundraising goals,” says Michael J. Klag, MD, MPH ’87, dean of the Bloomberg School. “Under Heath’s leadership, the average amount raised each year doubled, and the number of donors increased by 10 percent. Most importantly, he is a great colleague who inspires trust and promotes collaboration.”

Elliott has long experience in development in a variety of organizations. Immediately prior to coming to the Bloomberg School in 2011, he was the senior director for College Advancement at Harvey Mudd College. Elliott has a bachelor’s degree from Centenary College, a master’s of education from the University of South Carolina and a master’s of business administration from the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University.

Elliott replaces Joshua D. Else, who was promoted this summer to associate vice president for development and alumni relations at Johns Hopkins University.
