Community Health Assessment Survey of 20015 and 20016 Zip Codes Launched

Published

Researchers from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health are currently conducting a community health assessment survey in the Washington, D.C.  20015 and 20016 zip codes. The survey is part of a study to assess the Spring Valley area’s health and environment related to the development, storage and removal of chemical munitions dating back to World War I. The survey administered online, is open through November 16, 2012 to any current or former residents of those worked or attended school in the 20015 and 20016 zip codes.

The survey is funded by the D.C. City Council and is a follow up to an earlier public health study of the Spring Valley area conducted by Johns Hopkins in 2007.

“The survey is a great opportunity for community members to share information and concerns about their health; and to learn more about the overall health of their community,” said Mary Fox, PhD, MPH, principal investigator for the study and assistant professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Bloomberg School.

Participation in the survey is strictly voluntary.  Some survey questions address personal health topics. Participants will not be asked for any identifying information such as name, address or phone number, and all responses will remain confidential. The study findings will be included in a final report planned for early 2013.
