Core Competency Training This half-day training focuses on integrating the evaluation process into any community program. It begins with an overview of why programs need to be evaluated and the benefits that accrue to programs that evaluate themselves early and comprehensively. The evaluation process is introduced as a program-planning tool as well as a way to assess program outcomes. The stages of evaluation (formative, process, impact and outcome) are discussed. A program action hierarchy that matches program-implementation steps to evaluation measures is introduced, and is used during a practical exercise on building evaluation into the program plan. |
