Core Competency Training This half-day skills development program was developed in response to a request from health department employees who have to use logic models in grant applications but struggle with the concept. The focus of the training is not on drawing models but on developing the logical thinking skills necessary to create effective logic models. Specific content includes the importance of understanding: - relationship between risk factors and possible intervention strategies
- the reasons for selecting program partners or settings
- the rationale for including specific program components
The session also introduces "theories of action" and an integrated program planning model. Participants will work through a series of causal thinking exercises to identify and critique key elements of a program logic model. |
