This presentation included:

•     An overview of the demographic transition (aging society) and a brief description of disability trends.

•     A definition of long-term care and the types of compensatory strategies most commonly used (environmental modification, assistive devices, personal care, and senior housing or housing with supportive services). 

•     Long term care financing (predominantly Medicaid and private pay) and reasons for growing interest in home and community innovations within the Medicaid program.

•     General information about the Waiver for Older Adults and the Living at Home Waiver including the available services under each waiver.
