The primary goal of the Johnson & Johnson Community Health Care Program is to support community based health initiatives offering quality health care services to medically underserved populations. Since 1987, the program has provided competitive non-renewable two-year grants to non-profit organizations across the continental United States and Puerto Rico. The program is fully underwritten by the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies. The main objective of the Johnson & Johnson Community Health Care Program is to enhance access to health care among medically underserved patients by supporting the nation’s safety net of community-based health centers and providers: - Considering the special needs of individuals at high risk for medical under-service particularly programs that support diabetes, obesity & cardiovascular disease.
- Providing grants to community based non-profit organizations that propose creative and effective ways of improving access to health care services.
- Assisting organizations to develop a network of neighborhood, community health stakeholders (ie, faith-based organizations, schools, etc.) through creative outreach activities.
- Assisting organizations to increase their in-house capacity in monitoring and evaluation.
Non-profit organizations selected by the Community Health Care Program will receive a competitive $150,000 non-renewable 2-year grant ($75,000 per year). A total of ten (10) awards will be made. |
