Dr. Renan Castillo is an Assistant Professor at the Center for Injury Research and Policy in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Castillo studied in the Master of Health Science (MHS) program in Biostatistics and graduated with his PhD in Health Policy and Management from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Castillo studied with Dr. Ellen McKenzie in the Center for Injury Research and Policy. Dr. Castillo has been a project director for a number of large, multicenter studies of injury outcomes and has authored more than 25 scientific manuscripts. His primary area of expertise is the etiology and determinants of disability following injury. Dr. Castillo has extensive experience in statistical programming, analysis of longitudinal data, and structural equation modeling. He has participated in a wide range of instrument development projects, including measures of participation, risk of disability and mortality, and a variety of diagnostic tools. In 2003, Dr. Castillo received the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Ann Doner Vaugham Kappa Delta Award for Best Research Project as part of the LEAP research team. |
