Dr. Lincoln is the Director of Orthopedics and Sports Research at MedStar Research Institute. In this position, Dr. Lincoln promotes and conducts research activities focusing on orthopedic medicine, sports health, and health outcomes. For example, Dr. Lincoln has been the principal or co-investigator for a number of epidemiological and clinical studies, including: Prevalence of cardiovascular disease risk factors among active and retired professional (NFL) football players; Epidemiology of mTBI in boys’ and girls’ high school lacrosse players; Descriptive epidemiology of youth baseball injuries; Trends in high school and collegiate sports-related concussions; Epidemiology of professional indoor soccer injuries; Evaluation of women’s protective eyewear mandate; Deep venous thrombosis prophylaxis after arthroscopic knee surgery: current practice versus decision analysis model recommendations; and Inflammatory and biomechanical contributors to arthritis development in a human model of joint trauma. Dr. Lincoln also served as a Research Health Scientist with the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Lincoln studied at the Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research & Policy and graduated with his ScD in 1998 from Johns Hopkins University. |
