This community based participatory research project will measure the impact of neighborhood sweeps enhanced with community health worker promotion and the CARES mobile safety center on home safety behaviors and neighborhood injury rates; and document and assess the roles and impacts of the partners on development of the study, implementation of the proposed interventions, and dissemination of the results.
“Being so close to Maryland, I knew Johns Hopkins was a great hospital but I never knew it had the same caliber of researchers until we started to work with the team from the Injury Center,” said Steve Austin, past-president of the Delaware Volunteer Fire Association (DVFA).
