Johns Hopkins CARES Safety Center Request Form

Space Consideration
Please keep in mind that the CARES Safety Center is about 40 feet long and 15 feet wide. It must be stabilized on a flat concrete surface (i.e. parking lot). If parked on a main road, you must obtain a City permit to block traffic from that street. Will there be space available to accommodate this vehicle?   

Request Policy
All request forms must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event.  Requests submitted less than 30 days prior to the event may not be considered. You will be notified of the CARES Safety Center’s availability within 2 weeks of your request.

Fees & Donations
No fees are charged for events within Baltimore City. For events outside the City, a $250 fee will be charged. Donations are always accepted and are greatly appreciated as we are a not-for-profit service provided through grants support and donations.

Child Transportation Safety

On September 24, 2007 at 6:30pm, Nadra Robinson was driving home with her one-year-old son Antoine buckled into his car seat. A few minutes later, Nadra was standing on the sidewalk staring at her wrecked car. Another car running a red light had smashed into the passenger side of Nadra's car, right where Antoine was sitting in his rear-facing car safety seat.
