T32 Institutional Training Grant Support

At present the GTPCI has very limited funds to support the stipends and tuition required for the program. Therefore, School of Medicine departments/divisions are expected to identify funding for their trainees wherever possible. We have found that the NIH is enthusiastic about formal training programs for clinical investigators such as ours and is willing to provide tuition support as well as stipends. We encourage training program directors who desire to provide a GTPCI track for their clinical trainees, to incorporate the GTPCI into training grant applications and renewals so that stipends and tuitions can be provided. To our knowledge, all training grant renewals which have incorporated the GTPCI into applications/renewals have been awarded, some with enthusiastic comments on their Summary Statements. Our GTPCI office is happy to provide suitable program descriptions for inclusion in training grants, should you wish to provide this option to your clinical fellows.
