Taking Steps Toward a Smaller Footprint

Every person at this School—every researcher, manager, teacher, employee and student—bears the responsibility of environmental stewardship. With concerted efforts, we can make a world of difference.

Profound global climate change threatens the health of the planet and endangers many species, including our own. Because of the perils of climate change and the inability of planetary resources to sustain our current habits and lifestyles, it is imperative that we weave an ecological perspective into all of our endeavors at the School—research, service, academics and operations. We must reduce our ecological footprint.

We can consume cleaner energy, and less of it. We can  purchase products that have more positive ecological impacts. We can reuse and recycle our resources. With a smaller ecological footprint, we can secure the planet’s health, improve our own lives, and brighten the futures of the next generations.
