Building on the multicentre community trial in India, Mali, and Pakistan, this project aims to determine the incremental cost-effectiveness of introducing zinc supplementation into existing diarrhea treatment programs at the community level (with community health workers). The study will investigate uptake through both private facilities in Pakistan and India and government health care facilities at all sites. Secondary project objectives emphasize the determination of: - costs associated with variations in treatment and modalities of zinc delivery (i.e., through primary health care facilities, community level health care workers, and/or private practitioners)
- the short- to medium-term cost-effectiveness ratio of zinc supplementation for households treating child diarrhea
