The Institute hosts a lecture series which brings top speakers and well-known experts in the field of tobacco control. Speakers have included Donna Vallone, Sr. Vice President for Research and Evaluation at the American Legacy Foundation and Cathy Backinger, Deputy Director for Research at the FDA Center for Tobacco Products.
The FAMRI Center of Excellence at Johns Hopkins hosts a lecture series aimed at addressing the broader policy context of SHS, covering, for example, addiction and change, SHS and children, and smoke-free policies. This seminar series is also used for presentations by FAMRI-funded investigators at Johns Hopkins with special consideration given in the seminars not only to the research findings but to their broader policy implications.
