The African Tobacco Control Leadership Program

Program Description
The African Tobacco Control Leadership Program will be held on May 14-18, 2012 at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. The Program is sponsored by the American Cancer Society who is partnering with the Institute for Global Tobacco Control to tailor the existing Global Tobacco Control Leadership Program to the African context.

This 5-day, in-depth training program will focus on building capacity to develop effective tobacco control policies and interventions in the 10 African Tobacco Control Consortium (ATCC) priority countries of Benin, Botswana, Cameroun, Congo Brazzaville, Gabon, The Gambia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Zambia.

Approximately 20 tobacco control professionals from the 10 ATCC priority countries will receive a scholarship to participate in the Program.

The training will be carried out with simultaneous English/French translation.
