You can apply for the 2010 Global Tobacco Control Certificate Program Scholarship until midnight EST, December 6, 2009

As part of our effort to develop global tobacco control capacity, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health has developed a fully accredited certificate program in Global Tobacco Control. The program aims to increase tobacco control research capacity by providing formal academic training to research scientists and tobacco control professionals to equip them with the technical skills necessary to take a leadership role in the global tobacco control movement. Tobacco control professionals, epidemiologists, behavioral scientists, government officials, and others involved in tobacco control are encouraged to apply.

The certificate program is a rigorous, formal, academic program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Individuals enrolled in the certificate program should be prepared to complete academically rigorous graduate level coursework which includes two courses taken online over an eight-week term and four courses taken in person in Baltimore, MD from June 14-25, 2010 during the Health, Behavior and Society Summer Institute (a summer program that offers regular academic courses during an intensive two or three week term). All required courses are taken for academic credit and students are expected to excel in their coursework (course completion with grades of “C” or better).

Upon completion of the certificate program participants will receive an official certificate and transcript which indicates academic credit from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
