“Communicating the Evidence for Tobacco Control,” September 23-26, 2002, Penang, Malaysia

“Epidemiology Research and Design,” March 24-28, 2002, Kanchanaburi, Thailand

“Epidemiology Workshop,” January 14-15, 2002, Phnom Phen, Cambodia

The most recent IGTC-organized workshop, “Monitoring and Surveillance to Advance Tobacco Control Policies,” took place December 15-17, 2003, and was attended by 11 participants from Cambodia, 16 from Malaysia, 15 from Vietnam and 12 from Thailand. In addition, 2 attendees came from Indonesia, 2 from Laos, 2 from the Philippines and 3 from Taiwan, along with several other observers from Thailand. We expect that these sixty-three or more well-trained researchers will contribute high-quality research and make important contributions to the advancement of science and policy in tobacco control in Southeast Asia.
