Capacity Building

The Institute for Global Tobacco Control works to develop tobacco control capacity in many regions of the world. Our capacity-development model combines research skills development and mentorship. Emphasis is placed on obtaining country-specific data to help in the implementation of tobacco control policies and programs. Overall, our capacity-building efforts focus on:

  • developing skills and tools
  • building networks and training leaders
  • collecting local empirical data
