The Johns Hopkins Urban Health Institute (UHI) Small Grants for Research and Development 

Purpose: The UHI Small Grants Program  was formed to stimulate and advance community-university collaborations around research and program development related to the health and well-being of the residents of Baltimore.  Grants are awarded to collaborations between community organizations and Johns Hopkins students or faculty that most successfully demonstrate the potential for advancing the health and well-being of the residents of Baltimore.  

Eligibility:  For faculty projects: those who are eligible include scientists, assistant professors, associate professors, and full professors of all schools of the Johns Hopkins University. For student-community projects, all undergraduate, graduate, and post graduate students at JHU. 

Funding:  Graduate Student community projects: up to 10 @ $5,000 each; Faculty community research 6 @ 10,000 each

Application Deadline:  June 30, 2011 by 5:00 p.m.; Award date:  July 29, 2011; Earliest start date:  September 1, 2011
