| The Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health | | | Goal: To strengthen graduate training and research in reproductive health
The Faculty of Medicine is in the process of transforming its Department of Community Health into a School of Public Health, which eventually will be comprised of seven departments, one of which will consist of a department of reproductive health. The Department's efforts focus on specialized training at the undergraduate and graduate levels, modular in-service training for health workers, collaborative research and teaching with Gates Institute-affiliated faculty and coordination with the Family Health Division of the Ministry of Health and National Steering Committee for Reproductive Health and Population Leadership Development. The new department will bring greater visibility to reproductive health issues and strength to health manpower training for the regional, zonal and local levels. |
