Comparative Cost-Effectiveness of TB Contact Tracing in Geographic "Hotspots"

Johannesburg, South Africa

Project Type

  • Projects Population-based Research (45)

Summary

We are conducting an evaluation of effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of household contact tracing for TB in a lower-incidence area of South Africa, to compare with prior research done in a high-incidence "hotspot." The ultimate goal is to determine the comparative effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of general versus hotspot-targeted approaches to contact tracing.
