Summary

The Southwest Baltimore Supermarket Intervention will use a variety of in-store strategies including staff training, manipulating the layout of the supermarket, and price manipulation in conjunction with reinforcing activities e.g. taste tests, cooking demonstrations, and recipe cards, to increase healthy purchasing in a grocery store in a low-income Baltimore neighborhood. This initiative is in collaboration with the Food Depot Supermarket, Center for a Livable Future, Operation Reach Out Southwest, Bon Secours, and other community organizations. Sales data will be evaluated in comparison to a control store in a similar Baltimore neighborhood.
