Summary

The overall goal of this study is to characterize the associations between HIV, hepatitis C virus (HCV), tuberculosis, alcohol use and liver disease in a population of ~1400 injection drug users (IDUs) in southern India (Chennai). This data will help to inform future treatment initiatives and interventions to reduce the burden of liver disease in a population with a confluence of hepatotoxic risk factors.
