Bangladesh: Integrated Safe Motherhood Newborn Care and Family Planning (MAMONI)

Habiganj, Bangladesh

Start Date:
End Date:

With funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and in collaboration with its partner Save the Children, Jhpiego is implementing a four-and-a-half-year, $13.5 million project that aims to decrease maternal and neonatal mortality in Sylhet and Habiganj Districts. The project, entitled “MAMONI,” is an Associate Award under USAID’s global Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program, or MCHIP. MAMONI is designed to increase the use of healthy maternal and neonatal behaviors, including family planning, during the antenatal, delivery, postnatal and intrapartum periods. Under this project, Jhpiego is leading efforts to: 1) increase acceptance of family planning methods, and 2) advance understanding of family planning as a preventive health intervention for mothers and newborns. MAMONI I is being implemented in partnership with Save the Children, MACRO International, Inc. and Broad Branch Associates.
