As researcher, my goal is to conduct research that has theoretical, practical and policy implications in three complementary areas:
The well being of African American young people,
Sexual health disparities, and
Community-engaged research using a variety of approaches and methodologies.

My interests focus on understanding how school, home and faith settings affect the health outcomes of African American young people. Accordingly, I am committed to developing, conducting and evaluating effective community prevention interventions for urban, underserved adolescents and their families. My extensive experience in conducting community-based participatory research and using qualitative methods to address issues with African American young people, their families, and their churches will be an asset to the proposed research.
