Overview

Dr. Yeh’s research focuses on novel risk factors and complications related to obesity and type 2 diabetes, particularly lung function, smoking, and cancer. Dr. Yeh is a co-investigator in the POWER Trial, a NHLBI-funded weight loss trial using health informatics to provide behavioral intervention and directs the Resource Coordinating Unit for the three sites (Hopkins, Harvard/Washington University, and U Penn) in the POWER Trials Collaborative Research Group (U01). She is also a co-investigator in the newly funded Hopkins Center to Eliminate Cardiovascular Health Disparities (NHLBI P50) and co-leads a randomized clinical trial of tailored dietary advice or consumption of dietary supplements to lower blood pressure and improves cardiovascular disease risk factors in hypertensive urban African Americans.

As the Director of Healthcare and Population Science Core in the NIDDK-funded Baltimore Diabetes Research Center, Dr. Yeh collaborates with basic scientists and clinical investigators on a broader range of diabetes outcomes, and contributes expertise in study design, statistical methods, and translational research. In the Division of General Internal Medicine, she directs the GIM Methods Core to provide research methods and statistical consultation to Division faculty, fellows, and medical residents. She is also the Senior Epidemiologist for the Osler Housestaff Research Program at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Dr. Yeh mentors graduate students, medical residents, and post-doctoral fellows in clinical research, and serves as core faculty in multiple NIH-funded training grants. She also directs the "Epidemiology of Diabetes and Obesity" course at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
