Her clinical work, teaching and research focuses on child health disparities, violence prevention and primary care models to promote positive youth development and family health. An author of over 100 publications, she has been the principal investigator on numerous federal and foundation grants (NICHD, CDC, MCHB, NIMHD) and has conducted randomized trials of primary care, emergency department and community-based youth development interventions with low income children, adolescents and families. Her research involves understanding child, parent, clinician and community perspectives on health and developing and evaluating innovative approaches to improving health for vulnerable children and adolescents.
