A few years after being awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Peter Agre chose to redirect his research and leadership focus to one of the world’s most dangerous infectious diseases. He is now director of the Bloomberg School’s Johns Hopkins Malaria Research Institute.

When clinical trials expert Kay Dickersin and environmental health researcher Lynn R. Goldman were elected to the Institute of Medicine in 2007, they joined 17 other Bloomberg School faculty who are members of the prestigious organization.

A grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2003 allowed the Bloomberg School’s Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health to expand its efforts to train leaders of reproductive health programs in developing countries and conduct reproductive health research.
