The Hazardous Substance Training (HST) Program is an interdisciplinary continuing education program of the Johns Hopkins Education and Research Center for Occupational Safety and Health (ERC). The HST program grant was officially awarded by NIOSH in July, 2006 and is directed by Mary Doyle, director of the ERC Continuing Education (CE) and Outreach Programs. The program has built on the strengths of the existing CE program as well as the Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing, Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and Occupational and Environmental Hygiene programs, which are based in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences. A feature of the HST program is that it incorporates not only the faculty and resources of the ERC but also those of other partners whose areas of expertise are relevant to hazardous substance training. |
