Questions
The following research questions are being addressed:

  1. What is the relationship between HbA1c and microvascular diabetic complications (retinopathy, nephropathy, and neuropathy [peripheral and autonomic])?
  2. What is the relationship between HbA1c and macrovascular diabetic complications (coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease)?
  3. What is the risk relationship between microalbuminuria and change in glomerular filtration rate, cardiovascular disease morbidity and mortality, and all-cause mortality?
